The Lone Strand

Local news channel WVIR-TV NBC 29 covered yesterday's "flash installation" of knitted kudzu on the sign in front of Staunton's Robert E. Lee High School. See yesterday's blog post to read more about this guerrilla installation of The Kudzu Project and its connection to Confederate statues.

While the knitted kudzu was removed after photographing the installation (for use in future applications), a lone strand of kudzu was left behind and remained in place when staff and students arrived at the school this morning. The lone strand symbolizes how one small act can lead to lasting change. To quote the Australian protest song co-written by Paul Kelly and Kev Carmody to memorialize Aboriginal resistance, "from little things, big things grow."
